A selection of words from my vast vocabulary, including the ubiquitous "the," the always versatile "and," and the more obscure "incontrovertible," arranged in frequently meaningful, sometimes profound, yet often pedestrian sentences and statements, designed with one goal in mind-- that being, to communicate; keeping in mind the oft-used bromide, "Never use two words when one will do the same job as two or more words would have done, unless you just want to take up space and sound important," which is, I must concede, too often a secret objective of mine indeed. And yet, now, the secret is out.

It's a Girl!

Last night at about 10:00 Eric called me and said “We’re going to the hospital.” Amy’s water had broken.

This morning at about 10:30 he sent out a text message saying “It’s a girl! Will talk later.” Abigail Elizabeth White was born at about 7:45 or so, this morning. I brought an extra shirt to work so I could go up to OHSU and see them tonight, but Eric has had only about one and a half hours of sleep, and Amy hasn’t had any. So, when I get off work I’m going to call them and see if they’re up to visitors. Otherwise I’ll maybe see them tomorrow night or whenever she comes home from the hospital. The baby weighed 6 pounds and some-odd ounces. Mom and baby are doing fine.
